NOTE: Perhaps The Only Full 5' Size Movie Marquee Poster Of This Movie In Existence. LOOK FOR A VARIETY OF VINTAGE COLLECTABLE POSTERS IN MY "OTHER ITEMS". ITEM: (#A-43) Original Theater Movie Marquee Poster of the 1953 movie, A VIRGIN IN HOLLYWOOD. I have had this item about 20 years and have yet to see or find another real one online or anywhere, at anytime since I've owned this one.

This probably is the only item of its kind. It measures 60 inches tall by 40 inches wide and is in its original, unrestored condition, mounted onto 1/4 extremely hard cardboard. Sonney Amusement Enterprises Inc was the distributor of the poster, as verified by the label on the back.

It looks like the poster made it's way to at least 2 different theatres, The Star Theatre in Portland Oregon and The Moulen Rouge Theatre in Oakland California. A VIRGIN IN HOLLYWOOD is a drama dated 1953. (Take a "PEEK" at the Side Streets of Hollywood) The movie is about a small town girl, Darla Sloan as an undercover reporter working the back alleys of Hollywood. It was produced by Danny Sonney, directed by Klaytan W.

Kirby and starring Dorothy Abbott. CONDITION: It is in good shape overall as you can tell from the un-retouched photos.

It does have some discoloration from age, which actually adds to its look and some edge tape fraying mostly in one corner on the back of the poster. It also has two straight line, surface scratches near the top left corner of the poster (shown in photo). The overall look of this poster, the rarity of the piece, plus it's connection with California, especially Hollywood, makes this a very collectible item. To read all about the movie. It was a black and white film and yet they hand colored the publicity photos for the poster. It's amazing in person and would look great in any movie buffs collection or especially someone with a Hollywood connection, background or fascination for this style of movies.
